Unrelated: liberal Democrat though I am, Daily Kos is usually too much even for me, but I found this too fascinating to resist: Condoleezza Rice should be hanged for treason.

Reasonable moderate that I am ;), I can NEVER stand Daily Kos. I think he is analagous to the Right's Rush Limbaughs.

Articles that open with a call for hanging a major American official for treason haven't helped more than they've hurt an issue or cause since Benedict Arnold served in the Continental Army.

That being said, it is entirely fair to ask Condi honest questions about her role and/or knowledge of this matter. As a active board member, she should have something to say on the matter and it is fair to ask her what she knew and when. On the other hand though, unless these bribes were in the high tens or hundreds of millions of dollars, it is almost impossible that a board member of a multi-billion dollar global corporation would have specific knowledge of the transactions, much less where they were going and who was responsible for them. No board member of a similar sized company would have such knowledge, nor is it a reasonable expectation for them to...

Final thought: is there any one in a major position in the Bush Administration that did not have substantial ties to oil companies??? I didnt realize Condi did...

I agree. I don't usually read Kos unless someone thrusts a link upon me.

Ah, well, to be fair, the article does not call for her execution. That was my own input. :)

You worry too much, citizen! Here, have this tax cut.

So which blogs do you guys check that you find informative and relatively unbiased? (Other than Jared's, of course!)

Though I agree with Jared that Condi's liability as a director is dependent on the details, I wonder what kind of punishment the oil companies are getting. I hope certain members of management are held personally and criminally liable.

Jared's blog is an exception because Jared is an exception. I find it hard to find blogs that are even sane, never mind unbiased or well balanced. I actually don't read a lot of political blogs at all.

As for punishing the oil companies, it sure would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath.
